RCC : Banana Cake

So I got bored today and started googling for things that I can make without an oven. Then I found this blog http://everybodyeatswell.blogspot.sg/2013/03/rice-cooker-cake-4-steamed-moist-banana.html

Rice Cooker Cake : Banana Edition

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 110g sugar
  • 110g melted butter
  • 200g very ripe bananas (weight without skin)
  • 160g plain flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • a pinch of salt

When out to NTUC to source for ingredients, since I had never baked before had to go get flour, baking soda, baking powder and so on…

So let the baking begins

Chop up to “cubes”

Overall, the taste of the cake was quite nice but was kinda greasy maybe I should use less butter and maybe add some walnuts for the next time. Also the cake did not come out as I had expected, was expecting something more like a normal cake LOL maybe its kinda hard to get the same result with a rice cooker HAHA. So gotta cut it into cubes instead of the normal wedges. Gonna try some other flavours next week also gotta research how to make it puff up more.

Hopefully I can get a oven soon…
